Halloween is just around the corner, which means it’s time to whip up some spooky (but sweet!) Halloween bakes. Last year, we had so much fun creating these recipes, and now we’re bringing them together in one place so you can try them at home too.
These bakes are simple, hands-on, and perfect for little helpers in the kitchen. Get ready for chocolate, sprinkles, and plenty of edible googly eyes!
🕷️ Spider Cupcakes
Creepy, crawly, and surprisingly delicious!
How to make them:
- Bake your favourite cupcakes and let them cool.
- Make chocolate buttercream and tint it with black food colouring (this is much easier than colouring vanilla buttercream).
- Cover the top of each cupcake with the black buttercream and dip into black strand sprinkles to create a hairy spider body.
- Snap pretzel sticks in half, coat them in more buttercream and sprinkles, then push them into the sides of the cupcake for legs.
- Finish with edible eyes for the perfect spooky stare.

🎃 Chocolate Pumpkins
A no-bake treat that’s as fun to make as it is to eat.
How to make them:
- Sprinkle a layer of orange nonpareil sprinkles onto a plate.
- Pipe melted chocolate on top in pumpkin shapes and let them set.
- Once firm, flip them over and use more melted chocolate to draw on pumpkin faces.
These make great cupcake toppers or party table snacks!

👹 Monster Shortbread
Bring your biscuits to life with a little monster makeover.
How to make them:
- Bake (or buy) shortbread biscuits.
- Mix up a few different colours of buttercream using Honeyberry liquid food colours.
- Using something sharp, carefully poke several holes in the bottom of a piping bag.
- Fill the piping bag with the coloured buttercream, then gently pipe onto the shortbread to create a fun, hairy monster texture.
- Finish off with edible eyes for a playful (and slightly spooky) look.
