Halloween Brownies
Rich, fudgy chocolate brownies get a spooky seasonal makeover with colourful orange and purple icing and a generous scattering of Halloween sprinkles. These easy-to-decorate brownies are perfect for Halloween parties, school treats, or a fun bake with the family.
Ingredients
For the brownies:
- 200 g unsalted butter
- 200 g dark chocolate
- 200 g caster sugar
- 3 medium eggs
- 120 g plain flour
- 40 g cocoa powder
- 50 g Bake-Stable Fudge Pieces
For the decoration:
- 100 g icing sugar
- 1–2 tbsp water or milk
- A few drops of Orange Food Colour
- A few drops of Purple Food Colour
- Halloween Sugar Strands
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (fan 160°C) and line a square baking tin with baking paper.
- Melt the butter and dark chocolate together until smooth. Stir in the caster sugar, then beat in the eggs one at a time.
- Fold in the flour and cocoa powder until just combined, then gently fold through the fudge pieces.
- Pour the brownie mixture into the prepared tin and smooth the top. Bake for 22–25 minutes, or until the edges are set and the centre still has a slight wobble. Allow to cool completely in the tin.
- Divide the icing sugar between two bowls. Add a little water or milk to each and mix until you have a smooth, drizzleable icing.
- Add a few drops of orange food colour to one bowl and purple food colour to the other, mixing until evenly coloured.
- Drizzle the orange icing over the cooled brownies, followed by the purple icing.
- While the icing is still wet, generously scatter over the Halloween sugar strands.
- Allow the icing to set completely before slicing into squares. Serve and enjoy your spooky brownies!
